It's been a busy weekend for the Sharp Family. Friday I celebrated my 27th birthday with my family. My parents took us out for brunch at the Green Gateu, a French/European style restaurant. I had the quiche of the day and roasted red pepper soup. We then went antiquing and Tom and I bought some more vinyl records to add to our collection. For dinner my parents again took us out to my favorite restaurant The Oven where I had my favorite dish Chicken Tikka Madras, muligatawny (sp!) soup and garlic naan. For dessert we went to Ivanna Cone! I had Irish Coffee ice cream which was very delicious and very Irish :) My parents then took Logan home with them and Tom and I got to spend the next few hours to ourselves which was nice.
Many have know that Tom and I decided to delete our facebooks. This was a pretty easy decision for us mainly because it took up so much of our time. We also decided we wanted to teach our children to interact with people face to face instead of through a computer. I believe our promotion of face to face communication and interaction with people instead of computers is a good choice.
Now, this weekend (specifically May 21st) was predicted to be the end of the world. Obviously, we're still here (well at least I am). This has been a hot topic for many and more of a joke between my husband and I. Still, it's found a way on my blog because while I believe that no man or woman knows the date/time of the end, I believe there's so harm in making sure things are right between you and God. If that's all that came about this weekend then I see no harm in that.
I am looking forward to ending this weekend with a trip to one of Lincoln's Farmer's Market tomorrow. Two weekends ago we bought three different tomato plants and a lime basil plant. The tomatos are doing wonderful and are twice if not three times bigger. The basil on the other hand is not doing so good. Tomorrow we are looking to purchase some more plants for our garden and of course our usual homemade baklava and burger. We may end the weekend with a trip to the cinema, can anyone say pirates?
