Day Camping Trip to Indian Caves!
Grandpa Jesse and Grandma Gloria planned a day camping trip to the Indian Caves in southeastern Nebraska. Sabbath we woke up earlyish and convoyed with the whole family to the caves. The great grandparents, unlce Kevin, aunt Veronica, cousin maggie, uncle Tom, aunt Janel, cousins Tommy and AJ, aunt Rosa, cousins Liz and Alexandria, uncle Steve, aunt Liz and cousin David plus our little family all went (including Gabby). It was a two hour drive with a stop half way in Auburn for a break to play at the park. We got to the caves in time to start lunch. We got as close as we could to the Missouri River but due to the recent flooding we could not go very close. After lunch a hike was voted upon and Tom, Dominic, Grandma Gloria, aunt Rosa, cousins Liz and Alexandria and uncle Josh went. They went four miles and braved the bugs, mud and one mile verticle climb. Logan and I started off on the hike but turned back (it was a good choice too). Once they returned fromt he hike it was time to move to a new camping site...too many ticks! We had supper and decided to leave early due to the ticks. Overall it was a beautiful day for a day camp (70's) and very little humidity. We hope to go back again this summer and hopefully the flooding will be over.
